Dear Friends,

We are happy and privileged to invite you to the GUJSURGCON 2018 at Junagadh from 14th to 16th December 2018.

This 20th Annual Conference of Gujarat State Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India (GSC-ASI) and 45th Annual Conference of Gujarat State Surgeon’s Association (GSSA) at GMERS Medical College, Junagadh.

“Renovation & Innovation are the life of a Doctor.” So, as we all know that technology is continuously changing day by day. We have to keep ourselves updated, not only in knowledge but also in skills.

The conference theme is “Surgery Present, Future & Beyond.” It will provide a national platform in present surgical practice & Clinical Education. It will also widen the horizon for futuristic advancement in surgical technology.

GUJSURGCON 2018 will have a galaxy of a National and State faculties, who will share their knowledge and expertise in the field of surgical care. The conference will have a live workshop, Orations, Guests Lectures covering almost all aspects of surgery. We are also arranging Surgical Quiz for our Post Graduate Students. Paper and poster presentation are big opportunities to showcase your work.

You will have the opportunity to visit heritage sites like Mahabat Makbara, Narsinh Mehta Choro, Durbar Hall Museum, Mount Girnar, Damodar Kund, Ashoka’s Rock Edicts and Upperkot Fort. Also, you will visit Gir wild life Sanctuary Last home for Asiatic lions and World Famous Somnath Temple.

Abstract Submission

We encourage original research work. All abstracts will be reviewed by panel of experts and then would be accepted as oral free paper/poster presentations during GUJSURGCON 2018,Junagadh

Guidelines for abstract submission

  • Only registered delegates are allowed to submit the abstract for paper/poster
  • The abstract for the paper/poster need to be brief – not more than 300 words.
  • The first author will be the contact person for all the correspondence about the presentation.
  • Only one submission as first author will be accepted.
  • All abstracts are to be submitted in English.
  • Please choose appropriate theme related to your presentation.
  • All abstracts must be submitted on gujsurgcon2018@gmail.com email ID
  • The title should be short and concise, & must NOT be written in capital letters.
  • The abstract should not contain broad statements like “The results will be discussed”
  • You may use standard abbreviations, however mention unusual abbreviations in brackets after the full word, when it appears for the first time.
  • Use numerals to indicate numbers, except when beginning the sentences.
  • Case reports are generally not accepted unless they bring significant and novel biological information, they will be converted to poster presentations
  • Please do not submit an abstract under more than 1 category
  • Last date for submission of Abstracts is 31st October 2018
  • All Submissions will be acknowledged by email. So, please provide your current working E mail ID along with Mobile number.
  • By submission of an Abstract, the author transfers copyright ownership to the organizing committee for publications. The Organizing committee reserves the right to reproduce the abstract/presentation made in conference in print or electronic media.
  • Abstracts / papers previously published or presented at any national or international meeting are not permitted.
  • Abstracts / papers previously published or presented at local or state levels are permitted, but the details need to be mentioned in the submission.
  • The Scientific committee will review the abstracts & the acceptance will be communicated to the presenting author by 20th Oct. 2018
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to allocate a session time or change the presentation type.

The Gir Forest, which is last home for Asiatic lions, is situated in the Sasan Gir, Juagadh District. The Mount Girnar is older mountain than the Himalaya. Area of Mount Girnar is a forest reserve for Teck Woods, Herbs, Shrubs, Girnari Giddh, a type of long-billed Vultures are found in this region and counts to 25% of such total Vultures. As per the 2011 census, Junagadh district has a population of 2,742,291 with 12.01% growth in the last decade. Junagadh holds of the pride of being one among the oldest cities of Gujarat. It’s history is as old as the times of Lord Krishna. It was ruled by many empires like Mauryan, Maitrika, Solanki, Chudasama, Mughal and then British who gave it the name. Junagadh is blessed with many tourist attractions like Mahabbat Makbara, Narsinh Mehta Choro, Durbar Hall Museum, Mount Girnar, Damodar Kund, Ashoka’s Rock Edicts and Upperkot Fort.
